Rocketship Education is a connection of public K-5 charter schools that are aimed at offering their services to the neighbouring low-income students where there is limited access to great schools. This school strives and struggles to satisfy every special requirement of their students by implementing a combination of targeted tutoring, adaptive technology as well as traditional instructions. The main goal of Rocketship Education is to merge the achievement gap in our lifetime. Rocketship has started to reconsider elementary school via consistent innovation since it’s established.
Rocketship was established in 2006 by Preston Smith in conjunction with John Danner. This organization launched its initial institution in 2007 in San Jose, California. This school managed to post incredible performance as students pose high scores just like the students of Palo Alto School District on State Assessment of California. This has earned the school much respect and fame. It has turned out as the best option for the low-income earners. This success and popularity led to instant growth and expansion of this school. It has managed launched six more charter schools in San Jose in the past five years.
In January 2013, leadership was restructured and whereby Presto Smith was named as the Chief Executive Officer of this institution. On the other hand, Jonh Danner left the company. This company maintain a tremendous growth rate, and in August 2013 it managed to start its first school beyond California, in Milwaukee. This company kept its growth rate, and in 2014, Pocketship extended its network to Nashville which is based in Tennessee. Rocketship launched its fourth branch in Washington D.C, in 2016. Rocketship has K-5 schools in Washington D.C. where they offer preschool in collaboration with Apple Tree Institute.
The former tennis expert Andre Agassi usually funds most of the Rocket facilities through his foundation, Tuner Agassi Charter School Facilities Fund. Andre offered some support during the establishment of Rocketship Rise Academy that is based in Ward 8, Washington D.C. This is the first school to be established in Columbia District. Andre Agassi also funded the Rocketship United Academy that is based in Nashville.
